What is the difference between Traditional Makeup and Airbrush Makeup?

Debating whether to book for traditional vs. airbrush application? The following information can help you decide: Every makeup artist is unique, and will likely have a preference between one or another.

In traditional applications, regular foundation is used on the client and is applied with a brush or other techniques developed by the makeup artist. In an airbrush application, a specific foundation (silicone based) is used with an airbrush gun and compressor to apply the product by air. 

Based on professional experience, most artists prefer traditional makeup applications for many reasons. Makeup artists carry multiple sets of brushes which allow different techniques. Most importantly, makeup artists prefer to be able to work with the texture of the product on the client's skin. Many factors go into place when choosing the right foundation for a client, and traditional makeup applications give artists better options at customizing foundations based on the client's needs to look their best. On the other hand, many makeup artists love working with airbrush as well. Airbrush foundation is just a quick spray away from flawless skin! Airbrush formula is sweat and water resistant, like some regular foundations. One downside to airbrush formula however, is that it is not a "one formula fits all" type of foundation. Someone who is looking for a fuller coverage or has concerns about texture should book a trial to see which type of foundation application is right for them. In other words, consider airbrush foundation as another foundation texture category!

How long does each makeup application take?

The length of your makeup application depends on the look you are trying to achieve. Each application can be anywhere between 30-75 minutes. Large parties are always timed and planned accordingly so that applications are finished on time. Always allow extra time between appointments prior to your event to avoid rushing!

Is my security deposit an additional fee?

No. Your security deposit is used to ensure that you are committed to your appointment. Your deposit will be redeemable towards your final balance on the day of your session.
